This display of might is intended to intimidate opponents and solidify his image as a strongman on our dime—we won’t stand by while that happens \nWe’re not watching history happen. A former high school English teacher with 16 years of experience\, Piper transitioned into politics driven by her commitment to ensuring that every Missourian has a voice in the legislative process. \nIn 2022\, she ran as a Democratic candidate for Missouri House District 01\, aiming to represent a district that hadn’t elected a Democrat in over three decades. \nBeyond her candidacy\, Piper serves as the Executive Director of Blue Missouri\, an organization dedicated to supporting Democratic nominees for the Missouri state legislature. She also hosts the “Dirt Road Democrat” podcast\, where she discusses issues facing rural Missourians and advocates for progressive policies. \nEvent will be held in the Joplin Public Library Community Room on May 31st as 2pm. We’re hosting a peaceful protest in support of the Armed Forces and veterans\, and collecting donations for local veterans in need— because no one who served should be left behind. \nSaturday\, May 17th \n(12 pm – 3 pm) \n7th and Range Line \n(Park by Big Lots) \nWe’re partnering with Our Veterans First to help fill their backpacks for local homeless veterans. Bring individually wrapped non-perishable food (granola bars\, snack crackers\, etc.) or travel-sized toiletries (shampoo\, conditioner\, lip balm\, etc.)
